Washington, D.C. – The Virginia Pork Council, along with support from the Iowa Pork Producers Association, North Carolina Pork Council, National Restaurant Association, and Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, is thrilled to announce the top five finalists for the #100kPorkChop Challenge. After weeks of enthusiastic voting from the public, in alphabetical order, the People’s Pork Chop Awards finalists are:

  • Dauphine’s – 1100 15th Street NW, Washington, DC 20005
  • Death Punch Bar – 2321 18th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009
  • Miss Toya’s Southern Kitchen – 3216 Pennsylvania Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20020
  • Rasika West End – 1190 New Hampshire Ave NW, Washington, DC 20037
  • Sloppy Mama’s BBQ – 5731 Langston Blvd, Arlington, VA 22207 

These exceptional chefs and their restaurants have captivated the taste buds of the D.C. metro area with their unique and delicious pork chop dishes. The public voting phase concluded on July 3, 2024, allowing thousands from the Washington D.C. metro area to directly influence the competition.

The finalists will now advance to the final judging round, where culinary professionals and pork producers will evaluate their dishes. Judging will take place on July 11-12, 2024, and the competition winner will be announced at the prestigious 42nd RAMMY Awards Gala (The RAMMYS) on July 21, 2024.

The winning restaurant will receive a grand prize of $100,000, and an additional $100,000 worth of pork products will be donated to the Capital Area Food Bank, highlighting the competition’s commitment to fighting hunger and supporting the local community.

Congratulations to Death Punch Bar, Dauphine’s, Miss Toya’s Southern Kitchen, Sloppy Mama’s BBQ, and Rasika West End on being finalists, and thank you to the thousands who helped shape the finals with their votes!”

The $100k Pork Chop Challenge is a contest celebrating restaurants in the Capital Beltway area that feature unique and delicious pork chop dishes. The event is hosted by the Virginia Pork Council, with support from the Iowa Pork Producers Association, North Carolina Pork Council, National Restaurant Association, and Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington. The challenge offers a $100,000 prize to the winning restaurant and a $100,000 donation of pork products to the Capital Area Food Bank.
